About ENGAGE

Photography allows the engagement of a wide range of ages, backgrounds and abilities allowing people an expressive platform regardless of skill or talent. Community photography comes from people using the art of photography to communicate with others to embrace all aspects of the world around us. It is this theme that the Trans Pennine Trail would like to embrace to enhance the visitor experience of existing Trail users and entice new users out onto the Trail to see what is on offer.

The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders linking the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals and through some of the most historic towns and cities in the North of England.
We believe that the Trans Pennine Trail and surrounding communities offer a focus and wealth of diversity in photographic subject and creative material whilst also offering the unique opportunity to exhibit and display.

Our aims and objectives are...

–  ENGAGE the local community
–  ENGAGE the Trail as a resource for facilitating creativity and expression
–  ENGAGE and inspire people to use the Trail
–  ENGAGE those on the Trail
